Missing: Phone

So the other day, about mid-day I thought of something to text my husband and it occurred to me I hadn't seen my phone in a while.  I did phone hunting ritual: checked my pockets, checked my purse, checked my desk, checked my purse again, emptied out my purse, checked my pockets again, checked the bathroom, checked   with my co-workers, emptied my purse again... When was the last time I had it?  I called the bank this morning.... And then ran lunch errands.. and now I'm here.  Checked my car, checked my friends car (whom I rode with), checked my car again.  Nothing.  After work, I drove back out to JCPenny and Target and rolled up and down the parking aisles spying for my phone.  Nothing. Once I got home, I began researching different ways to recover your phone once its already lost.

So there are a couple neat features for when you have lost your phone.  The only one you can use after losing your phone (sorry, it's only available for Droid phones) is called Plan B.
Assuming your phone is on and has service, Plan B installs itself on your phone (you activate from the computer) and it will email you a map with the GPS location.  Pretty cool!  Unfortunately, I can't tell you how accurate it was...

Turns out my phone fell into the parking lot at work and then was run over by a car.  Someone found it, pulled the back off and called Verizon with the model number.  Verizon called my husband, and they gave the number of the good samaritan to him.  It did some random beeping and booping before it died, but everything about it was destroyed including the memory card.  It's the kind of phone where you can't remove the battery, so I just had to wait for it to die.

As a side note, everyone should be aware that phone glass is sharp, and you can definitely cut yourself on it.  Just so ya know.

Now I'm just trying to get the new phone back up to par...
