Oh, the places you'll go

A big part of who we are includes where we came from and where we've been, right?  I think a really neat little bit of home decor with a personal touch can come from something as simple as a map!

When we move into our new house, I want the decor to speak of where we're from and where we have gone.  I think a map can tell a great deal.  If anything, it's definitely a conversation starter.
These little screen printed maps are really cute and customizable.  I can see one in our future.. yes.. one with a heart in Virginia and one in Montana..  :)

Another really great idea is to frame satellite images of places that have special meaning.  Check out this tutorial on Five Sixteenths Blog by guest Jen from Motu Viget

This map is a really cool idea for an over-the-couch framed piece.  Scratch off the countries where you've been.  If you mount it with cork board or cardboard behind it, you could even put pins where you've lived or exactly where you've visited.  I can see part of the most exciting part of the trip being the opportunity to scratch off the new place.  How fun!

Song of the hour: Fly by Sugar Ray.  Yesterday I called into a radio station, and won tickets to go to the Summerland Tour with Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Lit, Marcy's Playground and Everclear!  Super excited for an excellent evening of throwbacks.
